The fourth edition of the annual International Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) Symposium was held in Delft and Amsterdam in The Netherlands on October 25 and October 26 2016. Bluerise and Delft University of Technology hosted the symposium to share valuable information on OTEC from academic and industrial sectors. About 200 OTEC experts and participants from all over the world including France, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sweden , and USA have participated in the symposium giving thoughts to the OTEC community for the future of OTEC research and its commercialization.
The Netherlands, widely recognized as a global hub for of maritime and water management related technologies and industries, provided a perfect gathering place.
The International OTEC Symposium serves as the largest annual gathering of people working on Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion. The symposium gathers OTEC industry experts, NGO’s and governments from all over the world to discuss the state of the industry. Two days of unique and interactive sessions and a wide variety of international speakers, from key players in the OTEC industry to energy markets and finance experts, and from NGO’s to government representatives from all over the world.
